In accordance with Article 13 of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, the responsible person must designate qualified individuals and guarantee their training is adequate and appropriate in order for them to carry out firefighting measures (such as using a fire extinguisher). Competent people should, however, immediately call for assistance from emergency services unless they are positive they can put out the fire on their own.
